Everything is white..It has been snowing for 2 days .At last, the Swedish say, we were waiting for it !

Welcome at EkoBanken in a small village 1 hour away in the South of Stockholm.

As its name indicates it, it is a bank! And as the the village size indicates it, it is a small bank!

« Eko »  for the 9 employees small has several meanings. Some find in it a good way to associate the country « economy »It is  first of all a business ! Others see « ecology » in it, one of the  main values of this small company. But, everyone wants to develop ethical values.

A BANK LIKE NO OTHER!

Founded in 1998 by Annika Lauren, Ekobanken has the same objectives as Merkur Bank (met in Denmark 2 weeks before).

Supporting projects which makes progress ! (Our favorite expression!)

IHere, everything is transparent. People or companies which have an EkoBanken  account know where their money is used. Used as projects loans forms which objectives are social, environmental, cultural and viable economically.

Some figures :

     > Annual growth : about 15%

     > 3000 clients

     > Balance : 32 millions€

     > 150 new loans per year (85% to companies)

     > 2500 shareholders. Most of the clients !

Their office is an old farm with a young people in difficulty reintegration center on the first floor.
