Clarum Wednesday April 30th in Palo Alto Turnover : 15 M$ Number of employees : 25 in the house development department
Appointmenta are following to each other and do not look alike in the green valley. It is a little bit hard to follow the rythm of writing !
The appointment is taken for wednesday at the very new Clarum in Palo Alto in the sourh of San Francisco with Deborah the CEO sister.
12 houses are almost finished. Nothing more traditional. It is what we are interested in !
Clarum is known for several years as the "green" houses builder in California. They only build green home !
In 1996 the Suppes family is creating Clarum, a housebuilding builder. In 1999, John Suppes, the CEO decides to build nothing else than "green houses". Much before the others
No air-conditioning using a lot of energy, high insulation, LED lightings, solar panels on the roof, choice of economic household aplliances, double glazing etc.. the whole added to an intelligent architecture which can be reproducible at reasonable costs
A growing market The association gathering tha major buildings companies in the USA estimate that today, 2 % of the new houses are green. This figure should reach 10 % in 2010. Thanks God, would you say !
The houses remain more expensive when being bought but are in California much easier to sell afterwards.
The housebuildings known as being not very ecological, are on the way to change…
