| One of the most important photovoltaic solar field in the world is in Monto Alto, not far from the small village of Milagro. We couldn't miss it ! |
On the way from La Rochelle, Milagri is our first Spanish stage. We leave our dear country finally. It is not bad for a alla around the world project !
Arrived around 9:00 PM in this workmen village, we have to appointment for the following day with thr company managing the photovoltaic park. It will be necessary to manage...
Only solution, the only one open bar of the city !
By chance, Emilio, lorries driver and pal from Tino, the barman, is talking to us with a large smile and in a spanish French :
« Yé connais lé director ! »
Perfect, the appointment is given for the following day at 9:00 AM at the bar for the guided visit of the solar field.
Little night in the car to write the articles and to assemble the videos of the first week. We arrive at 9:00 sharp with tired eyes.
5 minuts in the car and we discover huge solar panels as far as the eyes can see, behind a hill of olive-trees. Totally incredible !
A unique landscape, surprising and marvellous at the same time.
The visit is starting with a small 4x4 tour with two of the technicians.
We understand that the field is of course a banks investment but also the one of the inhabitants of the neighbouring villages.743 plates out of the 889 belong to them. Each plate is containing 75 solar panels.
Our friend Tino did not buy any, he found the bet too expensine and too dangerous :60 000 € minimum.
The park was born in October 2006 in the Navarra area.True laboratory of renewables energies in Spain, the electricity of this area is to 70 %of solar or wind origin ! Far in front of the 20% objective of the Spanish territory. On a surface of 51 Hectares, 9,5 MW is produced on the only site of Milagro by these panels which follow the slope of the sun and whicha are called photovoltaic trackers.
During our visit, we can see the electrical meters which indicate cosumption and production for each plate.
15000 KW produced for 15 KW consumed…
Tino, our friend barman, is telling us with sad eyes, that Acciona, the company managing the park of Milagro is on the way to build a new field at the entrance of the village..
IHe would have preffered olive-trees, as far as the eyes can see...l préférait les oliviers à perte de vue…
Talking to him with strong cases, he is OK to say shyly : « it's true, it's good for the country and for the nature also.»
Thank you Tino.
Magnificent
Panels as far as the eyes can see
Tidy in Indian line...
Engines to keep the trackers facing the sunfor a maximum efficiency
All electronics on each trackers pylon which calculate the good angle to be given.
The dials indicate the energy consumption and the energy production for each tracker.
